Sleep Over

Sabrina's friend, Kaley, came over last weekend for a sleep-over. Kaley stayed one night, left the next day, then came back again the following day for another night. They played really nice together, enjoyed each other's company and had a great time. Kaley is really a nice girl and a pleasure to have around.

Man Flu!!

I have been sick for about two weeks but have finally started to feel better. Hannah was sick for a week and I caught what she had. I had the flu with all the symptoms you can imagine. It was miserable.

This picture was taken by Sabrina as I was trying to recuperate on the Lazy-Boy. She managed to capture Hannah in the background.

My wife says that I got the "Man Flu" since men tend to act a lot more sicker than they actually are.

Med Photography Contest

The Medical Photography Department at UVM decided to start a brand new monthly photo contest, which is open to the College of Medicine's faculty, staff and students. To kick start the contest, the folks at the photo department decided to use some of my pictures for the publication and announcement of the contest. I'm excited and anxious to see what comes out of these contests. I've already submitted my entries for February.

Regarding the selected pictures you see above, the smaller one was taken at the Champlain Valley Fair, and the larger one with the tree was taken in Brampton, Ontario during a visit to my sister's place there.

Valentine's Blizzard - The Aftermath

Here are some scenes from my workplace two days after the big snowstorm.

Valentine's Blizzard - Clearing The Roof

I drove to Memere's house on Saturday (2/17/07) morning to take some pictures on her land of the snow accumulation as a result of the Valentine's blizzard. Memere (Hester) is Jen's grandmother.

When I pulled into her driveway, I noticed Jen's cousin, Travis, on the roof of the breezeway trying to clear some snow. I couldn't believe the amount of snow I saw on the roof. Travis is just over 6 feet tall and the snow pile was taller than him. I took a few pictures before I stored my camera in my car. I decided to give him a hand as I couldn't see him doing the whole thing by himself.

Well, I ended up helping him for over 4 hours and we completely cleared the roof of snow and ice. I was extremely exhausted and pretty much decommissioned for the rest of the day. I slept like a baby that night. Although, it was a lot of work, it felt good to help out. Well, in my opinion, I got enough exercise for the rest of the year! :-)

Valentine's Blizzard - Kids at Play

My kids had a blast playing in the soft fluffy snow.
We had to keep an eye on them incase they needed help getting out of the deep snow. There were times when they would lose their snow boots in there and we had to do a little "search and rescue!" I'm sure we'll find a lot of things come spring.
