Shine on The Camel!

The sun sneaking out of the clouds onto Camel's Hump this morning. Captured this picture as soon as I pulled in to the parking lot at work this morning. It was around 7:55AM.

Miserable Day!

It rained like crazy today and it was extremely windy too. These pictures were taken as I was leaving work. The above two pictures were taken from the right-hand side of my car (facing East), and the bottom two pictures were taken on the left-hand side of my car (facing West). It rained so much today that many roads were flooded and closed to traffic. I had water in my basement too. Infact, the concrete blocks were wet in places I haven't seen them wet before.

This is what my backyard looked like yesterday morning. All the snow is gone as it rained quite a bit recently.

Off Road!

Pulled out of my driveway this morning and saw this car in the ditch about 200 feet away. The road was icy and this gentleman went off the road. I stopped to ask if he was okay, which he was. He then passed his business card to me and asked if I could email him these pictures. Despite his accident, he was in a very good mood and was taking it well. The police came shortly to assist.

Oh Dear!

It was around 7:20 AM on Tuesday morning and I was driving Hannah to school. I was coming around the bend on Rt. 7 South near Blakely Road in Colchester when I noticed a Police car parked in a driveway. I slowed down thinking it was a speed trap but noticed the officer standing on the side of the road with his service weapon drawn and pointing towards the snow bank about 20 feet from his car. He fired one shot. Pow! When I got to about 5 feet of him, he fired another shot. Pow! He shot a dear (similar to the fake one in the picture above) which could have been injured or a danger to vehicles travelling on that busy stretch of road. It was exciting to witness this incident but sad for the loss of the animal.

Beam Me Up!

The sun was rising this morning and it looked like a volcano erupting or a beam heading straight up to heaven! Amazing!

New Friends

My family had dinner at my friend Anthony's place on Saturday evening. We had some great pizza and Corona's. Both of our kids got along right away like they had known each other for a long time. Sabrina and Maria are 8 years old, Hannah is 5, and Mason is 4. Here you see sleepy Sabrina cozzying up with Maria while watching a movie. I believe they were watching the Polar Express. Aren't they cute?

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my Dad's birthday. He would have been 76 years old today. He passed away in 1997 at the age of 67 due to cancer. My Dad and I used to celebrate our birthdays together since our birthdays were only three days apart. He was a great, fun, loving man, and is greatly missed. My Dad loved drinking milkshakes, so I had one today on his behalf.

Raptor X Hard Drive

Western Digital's new Raptor X hard drive, with a clear plastic top.
This one is for us Geeks.
Several years ago, I modified a hard drive by removing the top cover and replaced it with a clear plactic cover. I cut it to size, grinded the edges to smooth them out, cleaned it real good, then used some form of epoxy glue to seal it onto the drive. It worked.

Happy Born Day!

It's my birthday. Jen took us out to Chili's Restaurant to celebrate my birthday. Jen had the wait staff come out to our table to sing "Happy Birthday." My kids kept singing even after the staff were done and gone. It was a lot of fun. Oh yeah, I also had two huge margaritas! Thank you girls.
