The cover to this magazine caught my eye when I was at the store today. Interesting article about the Man of The Year award!

Bad Bad Garbage Man!

I was home with Sabrina on Tuesday as she was sick. Tuesday is also the day when my garbage and recycling gets picked up. So, when we heard the garbage truck backup into my driveway, we decided to check it out from the kitchen window. What I saw really pissed me off, so I quickly grabbed my camera and snapped these pictures. This guy decided to skip a few steps and dumped all of the recycling materials together with the trash into the trash section of the garbage truck. Paper, cardboard, cans, plastics, and glass, all in the trash!

This was the third time that I have witnessed this incident, so I gave the trash company a call and asked them if they recycled, and they said, ".....yes, offcourse!" So, I asked, ".....then, why are ya trashing my recycling materials? Am I wasting my time recycling this crap?" Long story short, they agreed that the driver shouldn't have done that, and bla bla bla, and they will rectify the problem ASAP.

Strawberry Pickin'

It's strawberry time folks!
Jen took the girls strawberry picking last weekend. They picked some, they ate some, they picked some, they ate some, and brought some home!

Ice Cream Social

So, we had an Ice-cream social at my place of work last week. The entire College was invited to attend this event, and who could pass Ben & Jerry's ice-cream! At the same time, we celebrated our Dean's retirement as the Dean of the College Of Medicine. Good luck and best wishes, John!

Patched Garage Doors

The bottom panels of both garage doors were starting to rot and were coming apart when the doors were being opened or closed. I had to do something about it, so I came up with this patch work. The panels held up good and so far so good. This will buy me some time until I need to replace the doors or have them professionally fixed, and at the same time hopefully I can put some money aside for the replacements. Ouch!

New Mailbox

Finally! My new mailbox is up!
I purchased this mailbox from Home Depot and installed it this weekend. I used the existing 4x4 post but had to cut it to the desired lenght as it was way too long. My kids assisted a little here and there on this project. Turned out pretty good.

Parking Fiasco

I can't figure out why this car was parked like this. Not sure if this was a prank or if the parking breaks weren't set right causing the car to roll back. Weird!
