Med School Linebacker

UVM Med School Linebacker.

A talent show is done yearly by the med students at UVM. This year's was on Thursday, January 25, 2007.
One of the students who was responsible for putting this video together had a computer crash at the last hours before the show and ran into some other obstacles as well.
I assisted with the data recovery from his G4 Mac, and helped with the successful delivery of this video to the audience with literally just a few minutes to spare.

Mom To Malaysia

My Mom flew to Malaysia from Toronto last night on Cathay Pacific.
She had a few things to do there and wanted to visit some friends and relatives as well. She'll be visiting my brother in Australia and will spend a few months with him. Overall, she'll be gone for about 6 months.
Enjoy your trip, Mom!

Our New "Four Eyes"

My daughter, Sabrina, got her brand new eye glasses today.
She informed us recently that she wasn't able to see very well and that she gets headaches when she watches TV. Sabrina failed the vision tests in school and it was time to see an optometrist. She saw one on Monday, 1/22/07, and he confirmed that she needed some eye glasses. So, she chose what she liked, and we ordered it. Glasses and frame came up to around USD$235.00.

So, my wife picked her up after school and took her to pick up her new glasses and have them fitted. She then brought Sabrina to my work so, I could see the new look. Hannah visited too. I like her new glasses. I think she looks very good in them. We decided to go to the Ground Round to celebrate the first day of her wearing her new eye glasses.
Cheers!

Mr. Speaker

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Speaker is in the house!!"
........and the crowd claps with a standing ovation!

"Thank you, Thank you, Thank you everyone."
"Please take a seat. Thank you. Thank you. Please, ....please take a seat."

Anyways, I had the priviledge to represent my company at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Educause 2007 conference in Baltimore, Maryland from January 17-19, 2007. Two of my co-workers, Anthony and Ryan, co-presented with me on one of the workshops/sessions.
Our topic was: Backend Services to Front End Users: The Mobile Initiative in Rural Vermont.
You can view our presentation by clicking on the title of the presentation above.

Our presentation was well received by the attendees, and we had a good turn out. Quite a few people approached us after the session to inform us that they enjoyed our presentation and that we did a great job. We did! We're all proud of our efforts and felt good with the results.
Good job, Guys!!

View From My Room

This is the view from my hotel room at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. I had a room on the 25th floor facing the harbor. The sunrises and sunsets are really neat to see from my room. There are times when I would sit by the window to enjoy the view and scenery.

United Airlines flight 7957 from Burlington (BTV) to Washington, DC (IAD).
This is a little clip of our flight landing at Dulles International Airport.

Sunrise at 27,000 Feet

Here's a sunrise at 27,000 feet. Our flight left Burlington for Washington DC at 6:30AM and it followed a North to South path, thus the beautiful sunrise view from the East. It was a good flight and we made it fine to our destination.
