3-2-1 Contact

My co-worker Diane recently got herself some contacts and has been very delicate with them. She cleaned her lenses and used the computer hard drive platter as a mirror to stick them back into her eyeballs!

Happy Birthday, Jill

It was Jill's birthday today!
The COMIS, COMET, A/V, and Medphoto departments got together to give her a surprise celebration. We also surprised her by walking over to the cafeteria where she was having lunch to sing her "Happy Birthday." Some people in the cafeteria sang along with us. She was definately surprised, flusted, shy, and was looking for a hole where she could quickly crawl into. None was found, so she had to deal with us.
We had fun and so did she.

Happy Birthday, Jill!

Mark's BSOD

A short while after my buddy, Mark left work, Lisa noticed that his computer had Blue Screened. I walked over to see it and noticed that it would reboot and Blue Screen with a different error. I grabbed my camera and started to take some pictures of the different screens and stopped when I got tired of it.

I shut down his computer and called him on his cell phone to let him know. He started laughing hysterically and thought it was really funny. He then tells me, "Dude, it's the new BlueScreen Screen Saver from Microsoft."
That's when I called him a Jackass!

BlueScreen Screen Saver v3.2 from Microsoft.

Heating Fuel - November 2006

Our heating oil tank was nearly at empty, so we had to get it filled up before we ran out. Not a good thing to be without heat and hot water in winter.
I left a check for $400 for the oil company and was hoping that it would fill up the tank. NOT!! As you can see from the receipt, he had to stop at $399.95. This got me to 3/4 full with 189.1 gallons!
Damn, this is expensive!
I figured I have a 250 gallon tank. So, approximately 60 gallons more and an additional $130, the tank would be full. That's over $500 for a fill-up! Wow!!!

Sabrina's Turn at The Doctor's

It was Sabrina's turn to see the doctor. She was complaining of aches and pains. So, to rule things out, we decided to have her checked out since her sister had strep a couple of days earlier. She tested negative for strep which is a good thing. I think she'll be fine.
You can see her doctor conducting a strep test in her office.

School Book Fair

My kids had a book fair in school last week and we decided to get them some books during the book fair's family open house. We always encourage our kids to read and write and we take their learning and education quite seriously.
Sabrina and Hannah are good kids and good students. We always get positive feedback from their teachers which is encouraging and rewarding.

Head Band Daddy!

Yup, I do look good, don't I? Yeah, looking good while being sick!
My kids were playing around and decided they would have some fun with Daddy. They placed one of their new head bands on me and Sabrina took a picture. I wonder if it was a good idea to teach her how to use my camera! :-)

My Doctor's Visit

I've been sick for at least three weeks with cold like symptoms, respitory problems, cough, severe headaches, and aches and pains. I thought eventually everything would work out but I started to feel even worse on Friday night and into Saturday. I didn't want to but I had to see a doctor. I was given a few prescriptions and I hope they will do the job. I'm so sick of feeling like this.
These pictures were taken after the nurse did the usual vitals checks and before the doctor walked in.

My Sick Hannah Baby

Hannah got pretty sick on Friday. She had a fever, threw up twice, and was aching all over. She took some naps on Saturday morning but looked quite miserable and uncomfortable. I decided to call her Doctor and took her in to get her checked out. Her Doctor took a swab and did the Strep test. Voila, she was positive for Strep! She was prescribed an antibiotic and after taking a couple of doses as recommended, she started to perk up and was feeling much better.
I'm so glad she is feeling better as it was heart-breaking to see her in pain and in a state of discomfort.

Welcome Home, Maddy Paddy!

I was in Boston on business from October 22-27, and when I got home, I got this wonderful note from my kids. It was great to see my kids and this note after a rough week in Beantown! That story will be posted soon.
Oh ya, I got this nickname of Maddy Paddy from my kids. Not sure how they came up with that but it's funny and cute.
